The London Persian School, located at Masbro Center, 87 Masbro Road in the Hammersmith and Fulham borough, is a well-established supplementary school near Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush tube stations. Founded in the mid-1980s by Dr. Reza Ghassemi as Kanoon Farsi School, our mission is to serve the Farsi-speaking community in West London. We offer Farsi (Persian) language courses for second-generation children, from Reception to Grade 5, every Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM.
As a parent-led, non-profit school, we have no political or religious affiliations. Our goal is to enrich students’ understanding of the Farsi language and culture alongside their primary and secondary education. Our experienced teachers use active teaching methods, allowing each child to learn at their own pace, supported by homework and assessments tailored to their age and aptitude. Learning Farsi is fun and engaging!
Dr. Ghassemi created the school to help children maintain their mother tongue and cultural ties, addressing a community need when few options were available. The school fosters a sense of community, enabling Persian-speaking families to celebrate important cultural events like Mehregan, Shab Yalda, and Norouz throughout the year. We hold in-person classes on Saturdays during the academic year, aligning with local school term dates. Enrollment is flexible, and we can place your child in the appropriate class level anytime. We at Kanoon are committed to enhancing the quality of Persian language education by designing and continually improving educational and cultural programs, recruiting skilled teachers, conducting regular student evaluations, and providing guidance to parents.
